Technical Rider

The following information is offered as an overview of the production's Contract Technical Rider. A copy of the complete rider is available to all presenters interested in booking the production. Please contact the production office for more information.
 
The production, staged as a public lecture by Mark Twain circa 1900, is designed for maximum flexibility with a minimum of technical requirements - and has a running time of approximately two (2) hours including one 20 minute intermission. We do not troupe the physical production, and the venue/presenter is responsible for securing props and equipment (rug, chair, table, podium, and minimal props).
 
     ▪ Tour box will arrive two days prior to the first scheduled production


The PRESENTER agrees to furnish the following at its own expense:

Transportation

     ▪ Round trip transportation from Mr. Richters's hotel to theatre and back.
     ▪ A car service/limo to accommodate 2 people and small travel bags.
 
Labor Call

The production is NOT a yellow card attraction - as such, all local labor will be provided by the venue/presenter. Minimum labor requirements are as follows:
 
     ▪ Load-in/out: one sound person, one lighting person, one carpenter
     ▪ Load-in length: 4 hrs
     ▪ Load-out length: 2hrs
     ▪ Minimum Show Call:
          ▪ One sound board op
          ▪ One light board op
 
Lighting

Three lighting scenes (general stage wash and two specials). Light plot will be sent by TD two weeks prior to engagement.
 
     ▪ We will do our best to work with your House Rep Plot.
     ▪ A minimal number (10-12) individually circuited specials will be required.
     ▪ Plot should be circuited and gelled prior to our arrival.
     ▪ 1 separate, 110v outlets SR for microphone receiver needed.
 
Sound

The production travels with a "Shure ULX" wireless microphone system which will be patched into the venue's existing sound system.
 
     ▪ A professional House sound system.
     ▪ Two monitors, with capacity for a minimum of 2 separate mixes.
     ▪ One cable with XLR plug for wireless-microphone receiver.
     ▪ Headset communication between PSM station, sound op, and light op required.
 
Set

House provides:
 
     ▪ Fully dressed stage in black .
     ▪ One Victorian style chair with arm chair
     ▪ Small end-table (style to match arm chair)
     ▪ Single Pedestal Podium
     ▪ Minimal Props (glass decanter & rocks tumbler, small glass ashtray,
       3 large volume books, local daily newspaper)

Company Travels with:

     ▪ One framed projection screen, 10' 6" x 14' and projector, laptop computer,
       wireless microphone system, and DVD/digital video player
 
Hospitality

     ▪ Hot meals for 6 people. Menu TBD one week prior to engagement.
     ▪ 24 room temperature bottled (non-sparkling) water
 
As much of the stage that can be preset prior to our arrival will be appreciated.
 
Such advance consideration will make the artists experience much more pleasant and stress free upon arrival at your theater.

Depending on the production's itinerary, and because of increased airport security, Mr. Richters' dressing-room tour box (which contains make-up, wig, costume, and wireless microphone transmitter/receiver) will sometimes be shipped via Federal Express (pre-paid by the production company) to the venue in advance of the first scheduled performance. Package tracking information is sent via email to the Presenter's attention.

Publicity

Promotion & Publicity: In addition to a complete press-kit including a full complement of publicity reprints, original art, production photographs, and promotional materials (all available in various formats), Mr. Richters is very active working with each Presenter in advance of their scheduled performances - helping to achieve maximum visibility and publicity for the venue and production. He is always available by phone to answer presenter questions, participate in special promotions, and be interviewed by members of the press. Local television network affiliates are welcome to make satellite uplink arrangements for on-camera interviews - video and audio b-roll performance clips available for television and radio appearances. 
 
Broadcast & Print Media Interviews: Reporters are allowed the opportunity to photograph and/or video tape the make-up process, and have backstage access to Mr. Richters for interviews. With prior clearance and restrictions, the media is allowed to photograph and/or video tape a minimum of the live performance.
 
Personal Appearances: Ken Richters is very accessible and always interested in participating in any planned "meet & greet" activities. A two (2) hour window is needed for make-up and technical reviews, so pre-performance functions just prior to the performance are not possible - although, he is more than willing to welcome the presenter's sponsors or special guests backstage for a quick visit before the show.
